We are looking for a Data Governance Manager (all genders)- Global Data Platform / Data Mesh for Mediaplus Germany as soon as possible.

What you can expect from us:

  • Development, coordination and implementation of data governance guidelines (policies, standards, data product guidelines).
  • Ensuring globally uniform requirements and GDPR/CCPA compliance (Privacy by Design, DPIA, Retention, Consent).
  • Translating strategic goals into operational governance processes.
  • Establishing and monitoring central data quality KPIs and defining SLAs, quality gates and validation mechanisms.
  • Collaboration with domain teams, Legal, InfoSec and markets to ensure high data quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining a sustainable compliance framework.
  • Establishing a federated governance model (domain ownership, data stewardship, data contracts).
  • Coaching and enabling international domain teams and moderating global governance boards.
  • Development and maintenance of data catalog, business glossary and consistent metadata models.
  • Definition of taxonomies, naming conventions, documentation standards and lineage.
  • Introduction and maintenance of data classification models (Public, Confidential, Restricted) and role/access concepts (RBAC/ABAC).
  • Carrying out regular reviews and audits.
  • Creation and implementation of training courses, playbooks and enablement formats.
  • Promoting a data-as-a-product culture and an active global community.
  • Supporting the organization in change management.
  • Further development of the governance roadmap, identification of process and tool optimizations & reporting and monitoring of relevant governance metrics.

What we expect from you:

  • Several years of experience in data governance on global data platforms.
  • Ability to translate strategic governance goals into actionable policies and processes.
  • Experience in working with international business, data and tech stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of data mesh principles (domain ownership, data products, self-service, federated governance).
  • Experience in building decentralized responsibilities.
  • Confident in dealing with GDPR, CCPA and relevant security/compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data catalog/glossary solutions, data quality frameworks, lineage tools.
  • Understanding of modern cloud/data architectures (ideally Azure).
  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD for data, data modeling and access concepts.
  • Ability to moderate global committees and communities, as well as confident in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Very good English skills; German an advantage.
