The position involves serving as spokesperson for the regional bishop and the Regional Synod, as well as managing the regional church’s press office.
The press office responds to inquiries from journalists and arranges interviews with appropriate contacts (m/f/d). It informs secular and church media about press- and public relations-related events, topics, and positions of the constitutional bodies—the Regional Synod and the Regional Church Council—which the Regional Bishop and the Synod President represent to the outside world. It prepares information about church life for presentation in the media. It also disseminates spiritual content and addresses fundamental questions of faith and the church. state organizations
Advising and supporting leading regional church bodies and institutions regarding their communication and public relations
Conducting press conferences and media events
Responding to media inquiries relevant to public relations and other public relations-related correspondence
Strategic development of the regional church’s communications, as well as the design and further development of the regional church’s media channels

To fulfill this leadership role, we are seeking a Protestant candidate with the following qualifications and requirements:
A completed degree in a relevant academic field and/or theology
Broad journalistic knowledge as well as a basic understanding of communication and public relations in the public sphere
Several years of professional experience in the media sector, ideally within the Evangelical Regional Church in Württemberg
We generally require membership in a member church of the Evangelical Church in Germany
