A pastoral care area consists of a pastoral center where the pastoral team is reliably accessible and offers a diverse, comprehensive range of church life (the Eucharist, the administration of the sacraments, liturgical diversity), as well as many reliable venues supported by full-time or volunteer staff. These can include churches, daycare centers, schools, social service organizations, associations, etc.
Your responsibilities:
Establishing, further developing, and implementing a strategic volunteer management system, including quality standards, framework conditions, and volunteer opportunities, as well as conducting public relations activities
Developing and introducing new forms and concepts of volunteer engagement, as well as reaching out to new target groups and areas of engagement
Advising and supporting leaders, groups, teams, and committees on issues related to promoting volunteer engagement and developing volunteer programs
Recruiting, supporting, and training volunteers, as well as fostering a culture of appreciation and recognition
Networking and collaborating with church, municipal, and social stakeholders, as well as participating in regional and diocesan networks
Collaborating in pastoral teams, working groups, and committees, and actively shaping pastoral development within the pastoral care region
Your Profile:
You have completed a degree (FH diploma/bachelor’s degree) in a field related to social sciences, education, theology, the humanities, cultural studies, or economics (in accordance with Appendix 2 of the KAVO) or have passed the Second Professional Examination for Lay Pastoral Professions (in accordance with Appendix 20, No. 12 of the KAVO)
You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, present yourself with confidence and warmth, and actively build relationships
You work independently, take on responsibility, and demonstrate a high degree of initiative
You are a team player, willing to learn, and open to change and new challenges
You hold a Class B driver’s license and have the necessary flexibility for evening appointments, occasional weekend assignments, and business trips within the pastoral care area
You have a positive attitude and are open to the message of the Gospel, and through your active participation, you identify with the goals and values of the Catholic Church
