Your Responsibilities
We are looking for new team members to support our international work in Brussels. Join our team and play an active role in shaping the political and regulatory framework for the electrical and digital industries in Europe. In this multifaceted role, you will combine work for the European industry association CEMEP with the ZVEI’s international activities. You will represent the interests of European manufacturers of electric drives and power electronics before European institutions and stakeholders, while also supporting the ZVEI’s international advocacy efforts on industrial and economic policy issues. In doing so, you will work closely with companies, associations, political decision-makers, and European institutions.
Representing the shared interests of our member companies before political, social, and economic decision-makers at the European level
Monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating technological, political, and regulatory developments relevant to the electrical and digital industries
Developing, coordinating, and consolidating positions on European policy in close collaboration with CEMEP, the European sector association for electric drives and power electronics, for example on topics such as the EU Green Deal, ESPR, CRMA, IAA, and other industrial policy initiatives
Actively expanding and maintaining our network with European institutions, political decision-makers, associations, and other stakeholders
Enhancing the visibility and advocacy of our member companies’ positions vis-à-vis relevant European stakeholders
Independent management of committees, working groups, and events, including the preparation, follow-up, and support of their content and organization
Creation of target-audience-specific communication content for social media and other communication formats.
Your Profile
A successfully completed college degree, ideally with a focus on European law, international relations, economics, political science, public administration, or a comparable field
3–5 years of relevant professional experience at a European or international institution, an association, a political organization, or a (service) company
Good knowledge of the current national and European regulatory frameworks
A strong interest in European industrial, economic, and regulatory policy contexts, as well as an openness to technological issues and solutions
A high degree of personal responsibility, strategic thinking, a proactive approach, and a passion for working in a team
Analytical and communication skills, a team-oriented approach, and the ability to distill complex issues down to their core points
Fluency in spoken and written German and English (C1 level), as well as a good command of another European language
Willingness to travel regularly for work, particularly to attend committee and association meetings as well as events
