Your Responsibilities
- By serving as the District Administrator’s press spokesperson (m/f/d)
- By providing strategic and cross-functional advice to the District Administrator and the administration
- By further developing an internal and external communication strategy, press and public relations efforts, and media presence
- By coordinating and consulting with the District Administrator on the development of new editorial topics, formats, and concepts
- By advising the various departments on all matters related to public relations
- By designing and organizing press events
- By maintaining and updating the existing website and social media channels
- By processing and responding to inquiries from the daily and trade press
- By drafting press releases
- By writing and editing press releases and speeches
- Through press relations and participation in committee meetings
- By preparing interviews and high-profile events
- By analyzing the daily press and social media to provide internal information to the organization
- With the option to assume the role of deputy head of the Press and Public Relations Office
Your Qualifications
- With a completed degree as a Diplom-Verwaltungswirt (m/f/d) or Bachelor of Arts in Public Management, in the fields of journalism, communication studies, digital media, public relations, political science, public administration, a discipline in the humanities or social sciences, or a comparable qualification
- Alternatively, with your successful completion or ongoing progression toward the higher civil service, or a completed or ongoing advanced qualification as an Administrative Specialist (m/f/d)
- With solid professional experience in editorial offices, press offices, or the communications department of a government agency or company, as well as an internship, PR training, and leadership experience (preferred)
- With your knowledge of digital and social media, particularly in content creation (e.g., using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva), campaign and community management, as well as a keen sense for digital trends and AI
- With your interest in local politics and the local media landscape
- Your willingness to actively contribute to the administrative staff of the District Administrator’s Office, as well as experience in crisis communication and the relevant legal framework
- With your confident editorial skills, an excellent feel for language, and an above-average ability to express yourself clearly and appropriately in both spoken and written communication
- With your quick grasp of new concepts, strong organizational skills, media literacy, and the ability to quickly understand complex issues and present them professionally
- With your personality: You stand out for your confident, diplomatic public demeanor, assertiveness, approachability, as well as a strong commitment to performance and the ability to adapt to new circumstances, even in crisis situations
- With your strong teamwork and collaboration skills, your enthusiasm for service-oriented work, and your motivation to actively help shape our “District Office of the Future”
- With your Class B driver’s license
