Department 52—Agricultural Services, Regional Marketing—focuses on providing consulting and support to farms that generate income through a variety of sources (direct sales, farm stays, food service, and Green Care). Through consulting, continuing education, projects, and media outreach, the department supports these businesses in their day-to-day operations and strategic development. The department is also committed to promoting regional marketing and providing continuing education for women in the agricultural sector.
Your main responsibilities:
You will continue to strategically develop market-oriented offerings for rural service businesses and implement them as part of a team, particularly in the areas of agricultural marketing, direct marketing, and farm-to-table dining
You provide conceptual support to consultants in the preparation of business plans and operational development strategies for services offered by rural service providers
You develop seminar concepts tailored to specific target groups for rural service providers
You design and coordinate subject-specific projects
You participate in committees and working groups at the state and federal levels and deliver expert presentations on the aforementioned topics
You actively shape public relations efforts, including by writing specialized articles and providing information services
What you need to bring:
You hold a university degree in agricultural sciences (Diplom or Master’s), preferably with a focus on agribusiness, business administration with a focus on marketing, food science, or nutrition, or another field relevant to the position at the time of hire
Ideally, you have professional experience in management or strategic consulting or in comparable fields and, preferably, possess knowledge of the relevant legal framework
You have in-depth knowledge of marketing as well as (direct) sales
You excel in communication, facilitation, and teamwork. In addition, you demonstrate interdisciplinary thinking, creativity, and a high degree of flexibility
You are open to change and willing to familiarize yourself with new areas of responsibility
