Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences is a research-intensive institution focused on applied sciences in the fields of computer science, engineering, business, design, and health. We educate approximately 5,200 students in over 70 degree programs and continuing education courses at three campuses in Kaiserslautern, Pirmasens, and Zweibrücken. There are currently four main areas of research focus.

The fields of specialization must be represented in both teaching and applied research. We consider excellent teaching skills and a high level of commitment to teaching to be just as essential as a willingness to participate in exchanges with our international partner universities and to offer courses in both German and English. In addition, we expect active participation in teaching foundational courses, advanced courses, and special lectures on current research topics, as well as, where applicable, lectures in related fields and in part-time degree programs.
You will also play an active role in establishing, expanding, and further developing our course and degree offerings.
We expect the candidate to integrate well into the existing team, both professionally and personally; to be actively involved in the academic self-governance of our university; and to take pleasure in sharing knowledge drawn from their own professional experience with students.

Your Profile

We expect strong teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as pedagogical expertise to deliver high-quality, practice-oriented, and learner-centered instruction. You will design courses with learning objectives in mind, utilize a variety of assessment and feedback formats, and continuously refine your teaching methods.
In addition, we require initiative, the ability to handle feedback professionally, and a high level of on-campus presence, as well as fluency in both German and English.
With the academic field of “Communication and Facilitation,” the university bridges the gap between specialized disciplines and interdisciplinary practice.

We are seeking a scholar with a proven academic track record, who is dedicated and experienced, and who holds a university degree in communication studies, psychology, or a related discipline; alternatively, a university degree in business, engineering, or the natural sciences combined with extensive, relevant practical experience in the field covered by the professorship. You demonstrate a particular aptitude for academic work through a qualified doctoral degree. Your publications demonstrate outstanding subject-matter expertise. You have at least five years of professional experience following your university degree, including at least three years outside the academic sector.
Knowledge and experience in several of the following areas are desirable:

Cross-media communication
AI literacy.
